Why does Rob give lessons?
People sometimes ask: “Why do you give a course if you are so good at day trading?”
Answer: I am now 73 years old and still trade every day. Now I enjoy training others on two days a month, like a football trainer. In so doing I meet all kinds of interesting business people who wish benefit from my knowledge in return for payment and I enrich my life, because life behind a pc can sometimes be quite lonely. Teaching the business to others incidentally keeps me alert. One always needs a kind of sounding board to keep the mind sharp, in order not to become stale. It gives me intense satisfaction to save someone from unnecessary losses and still greater satisfaction if I succeed in helping someone on the way to becoming successful in this marvellous profession.
I would like to see the strategy which I have developed myself – through the years – rewarded with a portion of goodwill, like an entrepreneur selling his profitable business.
I trade like a merchant and do not engage in technical analysis. I regard trading on the stock exchange in the same way as trading in the market. As far as I am concerned, shares could just as well be flowers. In my eyes shares are only goods with which to earn money.
Share / future trading is really fascinating. It is the freest profession that exists. It keeps people young in mind, because the thinking never stops. One has constantly to react to new situations. It comprises all the elements which make doing business so exciting.
